We wanted to follow up with you regarding the Transport Workers Union of America, AFL-CIO (TWU) filing to hold a Union election on behalf of the JetBlue Inflight Crewmembers. JetBlue Management has turned over their list of potential eligible voters to the National Mediation Board (NMB) (along with signature samples), so we wanted to explain the next steps and approximate timeframes.
You and your activists did the heavy lifting and delivered thousands of authorization cards to the NMB. JetBlue had until yesterday to provide the NMB with a list of eligible Inflight Crewmembers as of the last payroll period prior to the date of filing (December 6). Their list containing the names of 4,800 Inflight Crewmembers, with their signature samples, has been delivered.
The NMB will now compare each authorization card and signature to the list of eligible voters. While we do not know when this process will be completed, we hope that the cards will be verified by the beginning of January. We are confident that the NMB will authorize a representation election.
Thank you again for your support and patience throughout this process. On behalf of the TWU and the entire JetBlue Organizing Committee, we wish you Happy Holidays and safe flying!
